VIP Spotlight: Christine LaMott
Christine’s first Purpose Fueled event was November of 2025. Rick Copeland told her she’d love it. She was hooked after the first meeting.
She always said she wanted to be a teacher when she grew up. She did become one, just not the way she pictured it, teaching at DCTC and teaching every day in HR.

1. When did you first walk through the door? What brought you here?
My first Purposed Fueled event was November of 2025. Rick Copeland shared Purposed Fueled with me and said he thought I’d love it. I thought I’d give it a shot. It didn’t take long, I was hooked after the first meeting.
2. Why do you keep coming back?
The energy and value I get when hearing people tell their stories and connect in such an authentic and open way fills my bucket. Real people, with real stories that are willing to share and hear what’s shared.
3. What’s your favorite Purpose Fueled experience — a moment, a conversation, a speaker. Something that stuck.
I don’t know that I have “A” favorite. I take something away from every event, every story, every person that shares or that I meet. I love the connections and they aren’t about what can you do for me, they’re just honest being present in the moment experiences.
4. What’s one thing you’d tell someone who has never been to Purpose Fueled?
You have to try it! Great people, great stories, great connections!
5. What are you most proud of in life?
My family! My husband is an amazing man and the two of us have created a foundation that is worthy of what we continue to build. My children are amazing and I love them beyond measure. I’m proud of the adults they’re learning to be and am excited for what they’ll build their own one day.
6. What’s the title of your next chapter — in life or in business?
How Can I Help? Learning the difference of helping others to help when I can, rather than helping all the time and running too thin.
7. What don’t people know about you that they should?
I’m pretty much an open book. Within the context of the relationship, I give my all to anyone that asks.
8. What did you want to be when you grew up?
I always said I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up… I did it, just in a totally different way than I thought I would. I am an instructor at DCTC, but I also teach in a different way being in HR.
9. How do your best friends, kids, or family describe you? Who do they say you are?
That’s a great question, I had to ask and come back to this. Strong willed, independent, helpful, caring, determined, kind, say-it-how-it-is, first to offer to help, compassionate, inquisitive, funny, smart assed.
10. Who are the types of people you really love meeting?
All types. Every meeting gives me perspective and sometimes it’s different than I’ve had before and other times it fills my cup because it’s comfortable.
11. If someone in our community should connect with you, who are they? What’s going on in their life or business?
I’m a problem solver, helper, I love learning new things, new opportunities and I love to have fun doing it!
