VIP Spotlight: Megan Zweber Lamke

Megan Zweber Lamke said no to Purpose Fueled for over a year.

The timing didn’t work. Teaching schedule. Parenting schedule. Life.

Then she made a choice to put her daughter first. And her own healing. For the first time in 40 years. She walked through the door in the middle of a career pivot with no clear plan. Just a clear priority.

She hasn’t stopped showing up since.

Megan is an early childhood educator, a professional development speaker, a doctoral candidate, a former women’s premiere league rugby player, and a TBI survivor who navigates all of it with intention and ruthless determination. She’s a Purpose Fueled Plymouth VIP, and we’re glad she finally found the time.

Here’s Megan, in her own words.

When did you first walk through the door? What brought you here?

I first walked through the Purpose Fueled door in 2025 after saying no to attending for over a year because the meeting times didn’t work with my teaching and parenting schedule. Then I found myself in the middle of a career pivot because I had chosen to prioritize my daughter’s health and wellbeing as well as my own healing for the first time in 40 years. I didn’t know what my next career move would be all I knew is that I wanted to be the best mom possible to my 8 year old neurodivergent daughter.

Why do you keep coming back?

I keep coming back to purpose fueled in hopes of making a difference in every single persons day who walks in the door at Purpose Fueled Plymouth.

What’s your favorite Purpose Fueled experience — a moment, a conversation, a speaker. Something that stuck.

“Life is a giant run on sentence you don’t have a period double space then an indent new chapter. I don’t have ducks and I don’t have rows. I have squirrels and they are everywhere.” Jeni Cleveland talking about parenting in the middle of career pivots.

What’s one thing you’d tell someone who has never been to Purpose Fueled?

Come ready to be changed. Not inspired, changed. There’s a difference. Inspiration fades. What happens in this room sticks. Just show up once and you’ll understand what I mean.

What are you most proud of in life?

My daughter Lyra. Full stop. She is eight years old and she already knows who she is. She fights for herself, she loves hard, she plays rugby and Irish Dance and Lyra is a super cookie seller in Girl Scouts. I have poured everything I am into her. And watching Lyra become her own person is the best thing I have ever done.

Close second: My spouse Darik and I because he is my best friend and truest companion. Together we paid off $535,000 in debt in five years including our mortgage while investing in over 8,000 apartment units nationwide. We built that from scratch through sweat, tears, side hustles, and a lot of heart. Nobody handed us anything.

What’s the title of your next chapter — in life or in business?

“Name It. Claim It. Tame It.” That’s my tagline and it’s also the truest description of where I’m headed. I’m relaunching MeganLamke.com, I’m speaking nationally, I’m building flag rugby curriculum that gets into schools through PE while helping teachers with their “Sunday Scaries.” I’m volunteering with women’s elite rugby (WER) league as they prepare for their next impact investing round. I’m helping every child regardless of their abilities or special needs fall in love with the sport of rugby (flag rugby). This next chapter is the one I’ve been building toward my whole life.

What don’t people know about you that they should?

I am a former women’s premiere league rugby player but now I have a traumatic brain injury. I navigate everything I do, including running a business, raising a neurodivergent daughter, and pursuing my EdD, with a brain that works differently than most people expect. My injury slows me down, but in all the best ways. It makes me a mono-tasker, a better teacher, a better consultant, a better public speaker, and a better human. I understand what it means to work hard at things other people take for granted. I have earned my resiliency badge through hard work and ruthless determination.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was young I wanted to be a mom, a teacher, own a bunch of real estate and a doctor that actually listens to people. My mother and grandmothers told me not to go into teaching right away because I would not make enough money so I went into business and real estate first. Now I have the honor to be an early childhood educator, a professional development speaker for adults and I’m pursuing my doctorate in education.

How do your best friends, kids, or family describe you?

Lyra says I’m “the loudest laughing and cheering mom, but the best one.” That’s probably the most accurate review I’ve ever received. My friends would say I’m the person who shows up, loves big, who calls it like it is, and who will not let you stay small. Darik would say I’m relentless and resilient. He means both as a compliment.

Who are the types of people you really love meeting?

Builders. People who see a gap in the world and decide to fill it instead of waiting for someone else to. I love meeting educators who are done being overlooked, entrepreneurs who are doing it for something bigger than themselves, and parents who are fighting like crazy for their kids. I also love meeting anyone who is in the middle of a comeback. That energy is everything.

If someone in our community should connect with you, who are they?

Connect with me if you are trying to raise capital and you don’t know where to start. Reg A+, Reg CF, syndication strategy, I’ve done it and I can help you think it through. Connect with me if you are a school, nonprofit, or corporate team looking for a speaker who delivers real tools, not just a good story. Connect with me if you have a neurodivergent kid in the public school system and you feel like you’re fighting alone. I’ve been there. And connect with me if you’re relaunching something after a hard season, I’ll be your personal cheer squad, rooting for you in whatever arena you’re choosing to play in.
