Host Spotlight: Molly Monahan | Purpose Fueled Plymouth
Molly Monahan sat in the parking lot at Purpose Fueled’s Minnetonka soft launch, trying to decide if she wanted to go in. She’s glad she did. When Mick asked her to host, she said yes. It was that simple.
She’s the Organizational Change Lead at Trissential and hosts Purpose Fueled Plymouth. By her own account she’s an introvert with social anxiety who does things like this on purpose, to keep growing. Here’s Molly, in her own words.

When did you first walk through the door? What brought you here?
When Minnetonka did their soft launch. I sat in the parking lot trying to decide if I wanted to go in or not. I’m glad I did.
What made you say yes to hosting? What was the moment you decided this was worth it?
Mick asked me. It was that simple.
What’s your favorite moment you’ve witnessed in the room?
Hearing people talk about how thoughtful or thought provoking the table questions were. How they made them think. That and when Ryan McDowell told everyone the football kids still fear me.
What’s something about being a host that surprised you?
How much I enjoy facilitating meaningful conversations. Words and community matter and we need more of both now more than ever.
What’s one thing you’d tell someone who has never been to Purpose Fueled?
Come for the coffee, stay for the conversation, leave with an inspired sense of purpose and community.
What’s your favorite part of being a host?
The people I get to meet. Celebrating the joy people experience is important. Creating a safe place for people to talk about real life is important. Bringing them together in such a unique and engaging way is amazing.
What do people not see? What happens behind the scenes that most people never know about?
That Mick, Elva and I spend a lot of time thinking together over coffee.
What do you want every single person who walks through the door to feel?
Invited, welcomed. When you walk through the door you should feel like you belong.
Why is your location the best location ever?
Well, we have pickleball courts and mothers who bring their sons to share in the experience.
What are you most excited about for your location in the coming months?
The possibilities – there are so many things we can “test drive” at Plymouth now that we are in our new location.
Who are some of your upcoming guest speakers?
Sarah Kerbeshian, Kate Wade, and a few others who have a great story to tell.
What’s the title of your next chapter — in life or in business?
Yes, Ma’am!
What don’t people know about you that they should?
I am actually an introvert. I have social anxiety and make myself do things, like hosting PFC, to continue to grow and do the things I think are impossible.
How do your best friends, kids, or family describe you?
Hardworking, all in or not in at all, takes pride in everything she does. Relentless effort into anything I’m committed to including family and friends. Caring, social butterfly, charismatic, dog lover, consummate cheerleader.
Who are the types of people you really love meeting?
All. Each person has a distinct and uniquely them story. I am interested in knowing who people are.
If there’s one thing you could help people in this community with, what would it be?
Build relationships. We have moved so far away from knowing who our neighbors are and lending a hand where we are able to. Changing the world starts at home. Good thoughts, good words, good actions.
Molly hosts Purpose Fueled Plymouth. Conversations like this one happen every month at Purpose Fueled events across the Twin Cities. If you want to be in the room for the next one, reserve your spot here.
