Special Guest Feature: Kimberly Reeves | Purpose Fueled Eden Prairie
Kimberly Reeves hadn’t considered real estate when she signed up for a goal-setting retreat in November of 2017. She just knew she was ready to go back to work after nine years home with her kids, Sofia and Mason.
That retreat, at Keller Williams headquarters in Austin, put her in a room with people who pushed her toward bigger questions than how to set a goal. It pointed her toward real estate, and she has been guiding people through some of the biggest financial decisions of their lives ever since.
Kimberly is the founder of Reeves Advisory Collective. She is our Special Guest at Purpose Fueled | Eden Prairie on November 6th.
Here is more about her, in her own words.

What do you actually do (in plain language), the way you’d explain it to a friend over coffee?
I help people make strategic decisions about their housing. Sometimes it looks like selling or buying a home, sometimes it’s helping a parent navigate their next move and sometimes it’s helping someone with housing decisions during a divorce. In any situation, our houses are typically our largest single financial asset, so understanding the options, timing, and financial components of a housing decision is important.
What’s the moment or decision that changed the direction of your life or career?
Attending a One Thing Goal-Setting retreat in November of 2017. Real estate was not on my radar at all and I knew I was ready to go back to work after being home with Sofia and Mason for 9 years. The goal-setting retreat was at the Keller Williams headquarters in Austin, Texas, and was based on the book The One Thing. I met people there who not only helped with goal setting but also with the bigger questions, which eventually got me interested in real estate.
What do you believe about people that most others in your field don’t?
I believe people don’t always know which questions to ask or what options they have when it comes to real estate, and as an advisor, it’s my honor to guide them through the decisions. I have resources from professionals such as lenders, attorneys, and financial advisors, to service providers such as remodelers, plumbers, painters, and other vendors.
What are you most proud of, in life, not just in work?
I’m most grateful that Sofia (almost 20) and Mason (almost 18) are learning how to work hard, ask questions, see people and situations at deeper levels, are learning who they are created to be, and are hopefully on their way to be productive citizens in our world.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I can’t recall anything specific from when I was a kid. Once I got to college, I thought I wanted to sell biomedical engineering products and needed an engineering degree first. I quickly learned I am not made to be an engineer. 😉
How do your closest friends or family describe you? Who do they say you are?
I often hear that I am a good connector, thoughtful and a good listener. I tend to be on the move a lot and like to invest in relationships and helping people. I also love to walk, drink coffee and read (listen to) good books.
What don’t people know about you that they should?
I love to travel and have new experiences. This was put on hold for many years and as we are about to launch our youngest it’s great to be able to travel more and see more of the world.
What does “purpose” mean to you personally?
It means working in alignment with the people, things and causes that I value. I see my purpose as a connector of people and possibilities. I can do this through work (helping people with their housing options) or through helping people with a resource like a relevant book, a person, a resource or an idea they may not have thought about.
What’s the title of your next chapter, in life or in business?
Working on that! I sensed “winds of change” when I was at a retreat in Wales last week. It’s being written and likely has something to do with being empty nesters and getting to do “whatever we want whenever we want”, the stage of life where losing a parent or parents becomes more of a reality, and giving back more to the community.
What’s one thing you’re hoping people leave your conversation thinking about?
Kindness. For the past 11 years I have kept a kindness calendar to record the ways I see God’s kindness in each day. It is a way for me to see and record that even in really tough seasons there are good things happening. The week between Christmas and New Years I go back over the year and look for themes, text people who have played a role in my life over the past year and wrap up the year well.
What’s a question you wish more people would ask you?
What book are you reading or what are your favorite books? I love reading and have more books on my to-read list than I have time to actually finish!
Is there anything else you’d like us to know?
Understanding my purpose has been so freeing in the sense that I was once tied to sales numbers, and once I realized that I have a purpose bigger than a number, it changed my perspective of who I am and how I can make an impact. I’m happy to elaborate more on this!
Come meet Kimberly
